Supply Chain and Logistics Experts Tapped To Capitalize on Exponential Growth in Direct-to-Consumer Shipments for the Wine Industry

NAPA, Calif., -- New Vine Logistics, a leader in consumer direct fulfillment and supply chain solutions for the wine industry, today announced the appointment of Caroline Thompson to chief operating officer and Dr. David Anderson to the board of directors. Together, they bring more than 55 years of experience strengthening New Vine Logistics’ ability to expand its repertoire of services while continuing to provide broad market access and higher profit margins to its growing customer base.
The growth rate in the consumer direct segment continues to accelerate, according to New Vine Logistics’ collaborative research project with MKF Research. This growth creates great demand for enterprise-level expertise to deliver world-class fulfillment to the wine industry. With the high-level appointments, focus will also intensify on new initiatives including retail and wholesale partnerships.

As COO, Thompson will utilize her 25 years of experience to focus on strategic, tactical, and immediate operational needs including professional services, technology and finance management for New Vine Logistics. She will build upon the strength of the company’s state-of-the-art fulfillment center that streamlines the delivery of wine and wine products for more than 200 customers.
Thompson brings to New Vine Logistics a proven track record in managing and strengthening profitable enterprises. Prior to joining New Vine Logistics, she led operations for companies including Sanmina-SCI Corporation, British Petroleum (BP), Tenneco, CNH and Motorola. Thompson earned her Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Science in business administration from University of Wisconsin. She completed executive training from Stanford, Harvard, Cambridge, Duke, and Princeton Universities.

Over the past thirty years, Anderson has helped numerous global corporations transform their supply chains into world-class organizations. He is currently Managing Director of Supply Chain Ventures, LLC, a venture capital and consulting company and is a retired managing partner of supply chain consulting at Accenture, a $15 billion global technology consulting company.
