Wine Industry’s Leading Consumer-Direct Channel Management Company Adds Business Visionaries and Wine Industry Experts to Advisory Roster
August 16, 2007

NAPA, Calif. -- New Vine Logistics, providers of the wine industry’s first comprehensive consumer-direct channel management solution, today announced the appointment of Jordan Copland to the Board of Directors, Jean L. Arnold as Chair of the company’s Advisory Board, and Barbara Insel as Advisory Board Member. The trio has strong leadership track records with some of the top companies in technology, media and the wine industry. They will provide additional leadership and vision to New Vine Logistics as it continues a period of robust growth and innovation.

Mr. Copland currently serves as executive vice president, strategic development at GSI Commerce, a leading provider of e-commerce solutions that enable retailers, branded manufacturers, entertainment companies and professional sports organizations to operate e-commerce businesses. Before joining GSI Commerce, he served as senior vice president and CFO of Virgin Entertainment Group. Prior to Virgin, he spent 9 years with the Walt Disney Company, most recently serving as vice president, finance and planning. Mr. Copland holds an M.B.A in finance and accounting from the Wharton School and a BA in Economics and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.

“I’ve been fortunate to have been provided the opportunity to help lead some the most successful and recognizable companies in the world to considerable growth and positions of leadership within their industries. I see similar opportunities for New Vine Logistics,” said Mr. Copland. “The consumer-direct channel is a tremendous avenue for sales growth but has been largely untapped by many wineries thus far. New Vine Logistics is uniquely positioned as the only company providing comprehensive services which allow wineries to maximize their revenue through this channel while simultaneously removing the complexity.”

Jean L. Arnold is regarded as one of the most creative minds in the wine business, with over twenty-five years of wine industry experience in business leadership, executive management, marketing, and sales. She currently serves as president of Hanzell Vineyards, one of the leading wineries in California and previously served as CEO of Jackson Family Farms and its nine independent wineries. She is also the founder of the Jean Arnold Group, a leading consulting firm offering luxury brand positioning and image creation to some of the finest privately-owned wineries in California. Jean hosts a popular lecture series, delivering motivational speeches on topics such as Women in the Wine Business, and hosting business seminars on issues such as Branding in the Luxury Marketplace.

“As a result of last year’s Supreme Court decision, the increased revenue potential of the consumer-direct channel is the biggest change for the industry since Prohibition and New Vine Logistics is well positioned to help wineries capitalize on this opportunity” said Ms Arnold.

Barbara Insel is a business and wine industry veteran with more than twenty years experience in international investment and finance. She currently serves as Managing Director of MKF Research, a joint venture of Global Wine Partners LLP and Frank, Rimerman & Co. LLP. It is the leading wine industry research organization and publisher of industry economic and wine market research. Barbara guides all the firm’s activities, including custom business research and consulting for wine industry producers, suppliers and investors, and original research on wine market trends. Prior to MKF Research, Barbara held senior positions at notable financial firms, such as Salomon Brothers, Morgan Stanley Asset Management and Kleinwort Benson. She holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, an MA in Economics from Brown University and a BA from Barnard College.

“Jordan Copland, Jean L. Arnold and Barbara Insel are some of the brightest minds I’ve been around and we’re very excited to being them onboard with us,” said Kathleen Schumacher- Hoertkorn, CEO, New Vine Logistics. “We’ve been very successful to date but there is still a tremendous amount of opportunity ahead and we look forward to them joining us in our mission of helping wineries of any size access more of the market through direct channels, and introducing more people to great wines.”

New Vine Logistics was founded in 2001 by a team of wine, shipping and technology experts. The company’s current customers include more than 130 top wineries in the Napa, Sonoma and Central Coast regions.
